Welcome, my name is Keahilani Hali'a-Akua. My name comes from Hawaii, Keahilani means fire of heaven, Hali'a translates to: experiencing a sudden remembrance or memory especially of a loved one; a fond recollection or premonition, and Akua is the first full moon in the Hawaiian lunar calendar.
I live west of Chicago, and enjoy working in a variety of materials such as oil, acrylic, watercolor, charcoal, pastels, design and digital painting, poetry and prose (but not formally).

I admire the challenge of communicating color, shape, texture, value and hue of life and its experiences into a visual medium. Much of the fine art included here are my expressions of such foundation blocks for visual pleasure. It is literally I saw something interesting, so I did it.
Aye, I appreciate you took the time to check out this blurb. I'm open to positive discussions, dialogs and/or collaborations, especially with artists, so if anything vibes with you feel free to contact me.
